Apologies to the equally awe inspiring Six Organs of Admittance, due to some sort of sporting event and the resulting detours we got to the show right as their set ended.

Check out Dave Segal’s review in the Stranger for a excellent blow by blow of the evening…

vetiver at the crocodile

Last Saturday Vetiver brought their dreamy folk jams to the new Crocodile.  Supporting their sub pop release Tight Knit the band grooved through the new songs while sprinkling the set with their classics. One of the loveliest songs ever created, “Maureen”, made an appearance, as did their Townes Van Zandt cover “Standin” from the Things Of the Past disc. They kicked out an amazing version of “Idle Ties” and the evening ended with the encores “I Know No Pardon” and “Won’t be Me”.  Very dreamy night indeed.
