Graphic Anarchy in Fremont

This Friday the groovers over at 112 Printworks in Fremont will be celebrating their first anniversary with a rock n’ roll art party  featuring live music provided by Mongrel Blood (Spencer Moody of the Murder City Devils / Dead Low Tide / Triumph of Lethargy ) and more bands TBA. For the past year they’ve been hard at work printing some of finest damn posters I’ve seen (including the one they did for last year’s Escalator Fest and the Portable Shrines/Steve Quenell/YaHoWha33 posters for the show we did there last July).  In addition to having an excellent selection of rock posters, art prints and t-shirts the shop is also home to Leary Records which always has some of the best and most affordable used records in town. Groove on groovers…

Particle Beam Beings

A couple of dark and mysterious clips from Dave Segal’s Birthday party last week at the Comet. It was a fantastic night. Particle Being(Beam?) Ensemble is made up of a whole bunch of folks from Brain Fruit and Rose Windows along with audio wizard Randall Dunn. They can be seen(?) here doing a nice free form cover of Can’s Halleluwah. Damn Fine.

Just before that Stenskogen rolled in like a thick fog blanketing the room in a sonic confusion. Noise-a-Tron and Panabrite also performed rather mind-boggling sets.

NOISE the art and music event at the Black Lodge last week was truly amazing. Thanks to all who came out, contributed and organized.

Here are a couple of shots of the Portable Shrines/Caravan Age audio-video installation piece “Forest Television”.
