Escalator III is almost here! Conveniently coinciding with a cosmic convergence, Escalator III has been scheduled for Sept. 23-24, 2011 at the Lo-Fi Performance Gallery in Seattle.  Lineup and ticket info coming soon.

Coming to your town…

August 27th at the Crocodile the Wooden Shjips return to Seattle (it’s been too long) in support of their forthcoming Thrill Jockey LP “West” The new long player is an ecstasy inducing biker-rock jam that proves these cats are pretty much the Ramones of psychrock. Exciting to see them share a West Coast tour with Seattle’s finest, the Night Beats. Not sure if they still have spots left but the show is free if you RSVP with Sailor Jerry.

A special event this Saturday 8/20 at Vermillion on Capitol Hill. The crate diggin’ fiends that for some years have been bringing you the fine DUG funk night at Lo-Fi have more recently been holding psychedelic happenings under the name Lovetone. The night brings together DJ’s and record collectors with video artists, designers and assorted groovers and fun freaks. Saturday marks the first collaboration between Portable Shrines and the Lovetone crew and is sure to be a great night. In addition to the usual visual phantasmagoria of Portable Shrines we’ll be joined by the old-skool projectionist extraordinaire Parabolic. This is a rare opportunity to see the low-tech analog light artistry of Mr. Parabolic as he hasn’t worked his magic for the public in some time. Come freak out with us.

This Wednesday 8/17 at the Living Room take a journey into a dark and mysterious world with DJ Knifecream, Garek Druss and DJ One Eye. Relax and cool off (the LR got some new AC) with dark jams and hypnagogic visual transplendence by Portable Shrines.

No Cover. Free your mind.
